New Delhi,19 April —  Kevin Pietersen of Delhi Daredevil smashed his maiden century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Deccan Chargers on Thursday, and also rated the innings as his best in the Twenty20 till now .
Kevin Pietersen  was the adjudged man of the match for an unbeaten 103 off 64 balls only that no dobt  helped the Daredevils to  beat the Chargers by five wickets.
"It's really  amazing, a special feeling to score a century  in T20 cricket isn't it . This is my first in this format, so it has to be my favourite," Pietersen to  reporters.
Pietersen also  feels  that the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium pitch was a supporting one that had something for both the bowlers and  the batsmen.
It was good wicket to bat on and same  for the pacers who bent their back ,but  not much if considered  for the spinners. In Twenty20 you really need entertaining wicket," he added.
"I played as per the   situation and once you get yourself  inside that , you definitely will  get the boundaries. I was in good form against Sri Lanka as well  and it is just all about backing yourself in the field," he said.
The Daredevils were reeling at 65 for four but heroics of  Pieterson  bail them out.
"When you lose wicket, you slows down definitely  and Ross (Taylor)'s wicket put pressure upon me. They also  played good cricket," he said.
The South African born cricketer also praised left-arm spinner, Shabaz Nadeem for such  brilliant performance again.no doubt that  Nadeem put the brakes on the Chargers onslaught by removing Shikhar Dhawan and Parthiv Patel and helped a lot in ending the match with figures of three for 16.
"He also  bowled a good spell in the last match grabbing three for nine against Mumbai and  he  was also  fantastic today. He changes his angle quickly  and is a very clever bowler. There were talks of who could be the spinner of IPL V and definitely he is turning out to be a superstaaaaar,"added he .
Darren Lehman considered poor fielding and no  doubt it was , as pietersen was dropped thrice.
"Our fielding is not good enough. You can't drop a player Kevin who makes the bowling a hell if given chances . It was one of the best innings that we have seen and when you drop batsman  like him, it will cost  the game definitely ," he said.
No doubt they  bowled well early on but Kevin took the game away from them .In the 12th-13th over we lost our way because of some poor decisions,"said he ..
"We were probably only 20 runs short with the bat. We are playing 90 per cent but we need to do a little more . But I am not disheartened yet" added he . We are playing nice  cricket. It is a young side but were   not able to finish well.
No doubt yesterday's star was Kevin but it is also well said by Helen Keller
"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."
So the conclusion is that we all were given a chance to watch  some good cricket,
